SINCROTRONE, LYNAC, KLYSTRON AND SERVICE BUILDINGS

In Basovizza it has been built a multi building with laboratories and accessories spaces to accommodate the applied Synchrotron light research centre. The work develops into the main circular building, the storage ring, circular plan (diameter 130 mt), that hosts the SYNCHROTRON machine, a circular and cyclical electrons accelerator, that operates between 2.0 – 2.4 GeV and produces synchrotron light source that is conveyed along the 24 BEAMLINES and permitted variety of experiments. It was built entirely with special precast reinforced concrete structures and with long clear span of flat roof able to withstand high overloads. The LINAC (the linear accelerator tunnel) develops around the circular building: it was made with precast reinforced concrete special structures obtained with baryte concrete suitable for screening up to 2.50 mt thicknesses. In the upper level there is the KLYSTRON HALL built entirely with precast structures. The other ACCESSORIES BUILDING (control room, FEL, offcines and testing laboratories, the central water treatment and cooling, electrical power conversion and rescue, command center, research laboratories) were built entirely with special precast reinforced concrete structures.
In 2006 it was built the existing Klystron gallery extension, on Easterly direction, to accommodate the LINAC machine (linear particle accelerator). The building (21,20 meters x 6,62 meters) develops on a floor above ground: precast reinforced concrete structures (pillars, beams), overhead travelling crane runways and concrete panels coated with Monopanels.
